Bruchin

Bruchin was established in 1999 on the Western hills of the Shomron and is situated off of highway #5("Chotzeh Shomron") between the cities of Ariel and Rosh Ha'ayin, approximately 30 kilometers east of the Mediterranean Sea.

Bruchin is home to 100 families, including more than 300 children. Bruchin is a young, vibrant, religious community. The age range of the adult residents ranges from 20-40 and occupations range from all fields including: teachers, doctors, computer engineers, social workers, lawyers, rabbis, accountants, nurses and more.

All male residents do reserve duty in the IDF or work as professional soldiers in the army.

Bruchin has many community services that it provides for its residents including: a synagogue, library, daycare center, nursery school, kindergarten, mikvah, public playgrounds, "Talmud Torah"(after-school Torah classes) and more. School age children travel to the nearby community of Peduel where they attend the religious elementary school. Bruchin has a community Rabbi who lives and works in the Settlement.

The community of Bruchin has a number of communal projects that have been initiated over the years and aim to provide assistance and support to all segments of the community. These projects include:

    1. Preparing Shabbat meals for underprivileged families in neighboring communities

    2. A recycling project whose profits go to fund the Shabbat meals mentioned above

    3. Hosting soldiers for Shabbat meals

    4. Visiting hospitalized children at "Schneider Hospital"

    5. The establishment of a "rest-stop" for soldiers who are doing there guard duty in Bruchin. The "rest-stop" is a cozy caravan stocked with hot drinks and cake for the soldiers to enjoy. This caravan was established in memory of fallen soldiers whose relatives reside in Bruchin.

    6. Preparing hot meals for new mothers and their families

But most of all, Bruchin is a family. We invite you to come and spend some time with the Bruchin family so that you too can experience firsthand what we are lucky to come home too, everyday…
