Kfar Tapuach is the the best place to live and to raise children. It's true that all of the settlements have warm communities that are idealistic, pioneering and full of warmth. But nonetheless,Tapuach is the best place to live and raise children. The 170 families who live in Tappuach today represent a very wide range of beliefs, opinions, ethnic groups, prayer styles and customs. An outside observer might think that the community of Tapuach is a motley collection of beliefs and opinions that can never be turned into a cohesive unity. The truth is that differences can become either the elixir of death or the elixir of life. The variety, however, with G-d's help and much effort on our part, has turned into a fruitful togetherness. The diversity prods us to work even more ardently, be ever more tolerant, to help a neighbor even when you think he is mistaken in understanding G-d's Will in this world. Humility, simplicity and goodwill have turned the community dwelling here into the elixir of life, fruitfulness and growth. In Tappuach we have already internalized that only here is it possible to really teach our children and ourselves what it means to be a Jew of the kind G-d really wants. We learn from the Yemenites what adherence to tradition of the fathers really means. From the Peruvians we learn modesty and true humility. The followers of Rabbi Kahane show us how one proceeds with the truth without getting sidetracked. Rabbi Kook's students teach us to raise our sights ahead, and to pick the good from the bad even in a seemingly confusing reality. Our children will learn from the Chasidim of Rabbi Nachman the significance of being a son of the King and how there is no limit to happiness of the heart once this is internalized. From the Moroccans we learn what a warm and loving home is all about and what the Mishna teaches about the trait of chassidut: 'What is yours is yours and what is mine is also yours'. The Chassidim of Chabad teach us how to set the brain above the heart and to yearn with uncompromising belief the coming of the righteous Masiach in practice as well as in thought. Thanks to the unique fabric of life in our community, we have been blessed in recent years with a significant trend of growth, absorption and strengthening of the yishuv utilizing our important strategic location in the Shomron. |
