One of our
primary objectives is to give a voice to the tens of thousands of
citizens of the State of Israel who’s voices would not otherwise be
heard. The Shomron Liaison Office provides an insiders’ view on the day-to-day life within the numerous communities around the Shomron (also known as “Samaria”). To achieve this, the Shomron Liaison Office engages in a number of activities and projects, from issuing press-releases and conducting interviews with the media (both Israeli and international); to providing educational tours and other forms of direct-contact with journalists from around the globe. In addition, the independent publication of the official English-language “Shomron Newsletter” has begun, having already been distributed to 5 different countries around the world; including Israel, the US, South Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom. The newsletter offers a fascinating and unique glimpse into the lives of the wide variety of different people from across the religious, professional and social spectrum of Israeli society who live in our communities; including farmers, shepherds, skilled labourers, religious (Yeshiva) students, rabbis, academics, politicians and musicians to name just a few. As well as contacts with the media and many independent journalists, the Shomron Liaison Office also promotes, encourages and arranges tours for ordinary tourists from Israel and across the world in cooperation with local tour-operators, as well holding speaking events world-wide. |
